PRM: The Wire

I have spent the last week familiarizing myself with IntuiFace Design, a program that creates many different types of interactives. I am using it to create an interactive map that will allow visitors to track some of the trips made by the Gypsy Coeds. It's not a very difficult program to use; however, I am finding that there are many things I hadn't thought of before. For instance, how do I make sure the map goes back to the home page if a visitor leaves the interactive in the middle of tracking a trip? Which "space" do I want it to return to? These are all things I had a vague notion of needing to take care of, but the process is quite daunting when you have so many layers of information happening.

I must say, though, that I am happy to have this new skill. Conquering a new technology always feels great, and knowing that I can do this gives me even more confidence in my abilities. Next step: editing the raw podcast audio! (I haven't edited audio in a very long time, so this shall also be a very interesting experience.)

I have a phone interview tomorrow afternoon with the archivist at the Evanston History Center. I'm hoping to add to my experiences by working in the archives there this coming fall. Hopefully it goes well and I can keep working outside the classroom this coming semester!

Here's a link to see how IntuiFace can work in an exhibit: http://www.intuilab.com/in-action/video-examples/#play-video/7/.
