PRM: Pictures and Editing

The past week or so has been spent choosing images for the different sections of the exhibit. This is more difficult than I would have expected! I have over 450 photographs to choose from, so choosing just a few to tell the story of a specific place is especially time-consuming and challenging. But it's such fun looking through the albums that one of the girl kept; her captions help fill in the gaps of the story, and they tell me how the girls felt about certain stops.
WIth this task, I'm also having to make sure the photos can be accessed easily after I leave in August. Organization is key, but it's also time-consuming. Slaving away at the computer for many days has been tiring, but I know I'm making progress.
I've also sent my edited versions of many of the labels to Kristan to look over for comments and suggestions. While this makes me a little nervous, I do know that it's a necessary step. Her insights will be helpful, I believe, and I hope that the final product will be to everyone's liking!
Lastly, I received good news today. Ron Dupree, the man who I spoke to about the history of the Model T, has agreed to loan the museum some great materials to be put on display in the exhibit. The items include Model T owner's manuals, sales materials, and joke books. These will be great sources of information for our visitors, and I'm so happy he's agreed to share them.
